My wife and I bought a terribly distressed home last April for $249,000, put nearly $200,000 into repairs from my sons equity in a home he owned for 13 years, and then sold the home to him and his wife for exactly what we paid for it. It is documented and recored, completely arms length transaction. Our CPA is claiming that we cannot take the second homebuyer credit becasue we are releated. Other CPA's we have spoken with differ with him on this issue. What is your take?
